The Who, What & Why of Hundred Acre Consulting

The mission of Hundred Acre Consulting (HAC) is to build community and economic growth. We do this by helping families and individuals realize their dreams through business ownership. My personal vision is the foundation of HAC – “Help communities thrive so people feel good about where they live.” I discovered long ago that when people feel good about where they live, they get involved in where they live, and that’s when change occurs; that kind of change benefits everyone. 


I worked as the executive director for nonprofit organizations for nearly 30 years before becoming a certified franchise consultant, educator, and coach. Helping families improve their lives and the communities they live in has always been my life's work. One business at a time, I want to promote economic growth in communities across the nation. What could be better than assisting families and individuals in achieving their goals through business ownership and fostering community growth?

I do not sell franchises; I empower people and businesses to find one another—more like a broker or a matchmaker. Whether working with nonprofits or franchises, the tools of my trade do not change when it comes to you and the community. Through education, consulting, and coaching, I help make dreams a reality.


That is why the business of Hundred Acre Consulting is building community. I just happen to do it by offering my consulting services at no cost to those considering the franchise industry.

My approach to all this is very simple and straightforward...as a certified SCORE mentor, I can answer questions and guide you all along the way. I'm going to tackle all of this from a basic and direct standpoint. I learn while we talk. I learn about your past encounters and your aspirations for your life. I gain knowledge about your areas of strength and weakness, your desired living situation, and your desired budget.

 

Then, when you’re ready to take a serious look at a franchise, I will facilitate the introduction between you and the company and remain by your side throughout the process. I can provide you with articles and books on franchising, as well as lists of questions to ask potential businesses and current franchisees. I can help you define the steps to evaluate business opportunities and how they fit your life. I can also help you connect with funding options, franchise lawyers, and many other industry resources to further assist you through the process of franchise ownership.

 

When you're prepared to give one a serious look, I will arrange for you to meet the franchisor and I'll be there for you every step of the way. I will give you questions to ask when speaking to prospective companies and existing franchisees and in order to support you even more during this process, I can put you in touch with financing providers, franchise attorneys, and a wealth of other business resources.

 

From the time you begin working with me to your discovery day and throughout the life of your business, you will never do it alone. I get to equip you in your first steps as you explore and learn about franchises and what is available to you. You will never do it alone—from the moment you start working with me, through your discovery day, to the moment you become a franchisee, I will be there guiding you along the process.
